AdditionBySubtraction LLC (“we,” “our,” or “us”) operates the Dimify website and the Dimify Mac application. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our website or our app.
Information We Collect
Website. When you visit this website, we may collect information that your browser sends, such as your IP address, device type, and how you use the site (e.g., pages visited). We use Google Analytics to understand site traffic; you can learn about how Google uses data at Google’s Privacy Policy.
Contact form. If you use the contact form, we receive the information you submit (name, email, message, and any files you attach). We use this only to respond to you and do not add you to marketing lists unless you ask us to.
Dimify app. The Dimify Mac app runs locally on your device. Most settings and preferences stay on your Mac and are not transmitted to us.
Location Data. Dimify may request access to your device's location for features that depend on where you are, such as sunrise/sunset automation triggers and weather-responsive screen adjustments. Your approximate (coarse) location is used on-device to calculate sunrise and sunset times. To provide weather-responsive features, your approximate coordinates are also sent to Open-Meteo, a third-party weather API, solely to retrieve current weather conditions. You can review Open-Meteo's privacy policy at https://open-meteo.com/en/terms. No location data is sent to our own servers, and we do not use your location for advertising, tracking, or any purpose other than the features described above. Location coordinates are cached locally on your Mac, and you can revoke location access at any time through macOS System Settings.
In-app feedback. If you use the in-app feedback form, we receive the message you write, your email address (if you choose to provide one), and basic context such as your app version and macOS version. We use this information only to respond to your inquiry and improve the app. No data is collected or transmitted unless you explicitly submit the form.
